Usually, as far as films go, I enjoy things that have car chases, explosions and/or make me laugh every now and again. The film that I am going to lightly touch base on is called Mr and Mrs Smith (2005), and included all of the aforementioned. Perhaps you have seen it. (Shut up. I am just catching up on what I've missed.)

This action thriller combined the sexiness of Brad Pitt (though, admittedly, he's not my taste) and Angelina Jolie. I was expecting some cutesy half-assed American bit. This one surprised me.

The first half-hour or so is kind of boring, but somewhat important to the storyline - a married couple who are so used to a certain routine, the romance has all but fizzled out of their relationship. All it takes is finding out what John (Pitt) and Jane (Jolie) really do for a living, and the movie starts to wake you up.

It's not only a Spy vs Spy show. It is also a good example of how nothing is impossible, and that sometimes two heads are better than one. It completely destroyed several of my assumptions going into the opening credits, and had me wondering how the characters developed after the film's end. This is one I intend to own on digital video disc.

Yes, I viddied in theatres. Pretty good, I must say, but then again it was directed by the man to did the The Bourne Identity so it was pretty solid.

I never saw The Bourne Identity. (Was Supremacy the name of the other one, or am I mistaken?)

And you saying 'viddied' reminds me of A Clockwork Orange. Fascinating film also. Terrible though. Can't ever watch it again.

too much of the old ultraviolence by Alex and his droogs?
Brandy: irritationbrandelyn on February 5th, 2006 08:18 pm (UTC)

It actually involved a classical music piece I'd enjoyed up until seeing that film.

Let Me Guess: "the Mockingbird"

Guess as you may, but after all this time, why do you still persist?
Shadow Magnetpapavic on February 5th, 2006 10:18 pm (UTC)

I'm still laboring under the premise that it's worth the effort
Brandy: reservationbrandelyn on February 6th, 2006 12:53 am (UTC)

Perhaps you are mistaken.

(wouldn't be the first time

nor will it be the last)

Yep, viddy is nadsat or whatever talk from the book/film known as A Clockwork Orange. I can't watch it either, but that's because I don't know whether to like it or hate it. So I'll probably watch it again.

Let me know what the verdict is when you do. I think once is enough on my end.

Ok that's one movie I still have to watch this week before we go back to school. At least Steven has it on his server.

You've still got time. There are a couple more I've seen and would recommend, and I'll get to talking about those later.

Much better than I'd expected/than reviews had led me to believe.
I wouldn't personally buy it, but it's certainly rental-worthy.
Brandy: affirmationbrandelyn on February 5th, 2006 08:21 pm (UTC)

Certainly. A friend of mine had just happened to buy it, though.

Transporter 2 wasn't really worth the rentals, even with cool/impossible car scenes... and eh, I've got mixed feelings on the 40-year-old Virgin, although it did make me laugh in ridiculous amounts.

Sounds like Bad Boys, but with white actors.
Brandy: afflictionbrandelyn on February 5th, 2006 08:23 pm (UTC)

Yeah, if they'd wanted to fuck each other.

Sure thing - hope you enjoy. :)

I love that movie too! Team Jolie all the way, they have way more chemistry than Brad/Jen Aniston... although she's kinda cool.

... but Jolie is more human to me.

yes, I enjoyed this movie as well even though Steven orotested against Angelina and Vrad Pit. Frankly, I love them both.
